Site Engineer – Health Facilities Rehabilitation Project is responsible for supervising and monitoring the rehabilitation and construction of health facilities in Damascus. The role ensures that all works are completed according to approved designs, standards, and safety requirements, while coordinating with contractors, partners, and authorities to deliver high-quality, functional, and sustainable healthcare infrastructure

The Site Engineer – Health Facilities Rehabilitation Project has the following responsibilities and duties:

Project Oversight:

1. Supervise and monitor all rehabilitation and construction works at health facilities, ensuring adherence to approved designs, specifications, timelines, and safety standards.

2. Conduct regular site visits and inspections, documenting progress and reporting any technical or contractual issues.

Project Oversight:

3. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, MoH engineers, and implementing partners to ensure timely and quality execution.

4. Review and validate technical drawings, bills of quantities (BoQs), and material specifications.

Technical Coordination:

5. Ensure compliance with national and international standards for hospital infrastructure and medical systems (HVAC, oxygen supply, alarms, water, electrical, and waste management.......).

6. Identify risks and propose mitigation measures related to structural integrity, infection control, and equipment installation.

Quality Assurance:

7. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including site photos, timelines, and budget utilization.

8. Maintain documentation for audits and donor reporting.

Reporting:

9. Report any damaged, expired, or missing items immediately.

10. Support in compliance with donor, organizational, and hospital regulations related to warehouse management.

Maintenance Planning:

11. Support development of maintenance plans and operational manuals for rehabilitated facilities and installed medical equipment.

Safety and Compliance:

12. Ensure all construction and rehabilitation activities follow environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

2. Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in health facility rehabilitation, hospital infrastructure, or medical systems projects.

3. Demonstrated experience supervising contractors and coordinating with government or NGO partners.

4. Knowledge of medical gas systems, HVAC, water/sanitation systems, and hospital power distribution preferred.

5. Strong project management, documentation, and reporting skills.

6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English required.
