
The Assistant Instructor is responsible for assisting,
organising and training of the operational staff in a safe
and efficient manner under supervision of the STM and
will ensure that training is carried out in accordance
with SOPs, drills and procedures. Also responsible for
monitoring and evaluation of operational teams.
This is a non-contractual document that can be varied
from time to time as circumstances dictate. This job
description is intended to summarize the main duties
and responsibilities of the post; this is not intended to be
a full and exhaustive list of tasks. All MAG staff are
expected to demonstrate flexibility and willingness to
perform appropriate tasks when the need arises.
Some Job Descriptions may be supplemented by specific
Terms of Reference.
• Assist in planning, prioritise & coordinate
all training operations within the project
in order to achieve project outputs.
• Conduct and supervise training
operations of MAG mine and EOD /
IEDD clearance operations.
• To implement all aspects of mine / IEDD
clearance and Search training and
related tasks within the parameters of
the project in accordance with Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) and as
required by their respective Line
manager.
• Ensure full knowledge of and ensure
implementation of all SOPs, drills and
other work practices.
• Reviewing, developing and revise SOPs
and training curriculum as appropriate in
conjunction with the STM.
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of all
operational skills to ensure effectiveness
of training is upheld.
• Ensure an in-depth and up-to-date
knowledge of all mines and munitions in
the theatre of operations.
• Ensure an in-depth and up-to-date
knowledge of all relevant technical
equipment in the theatre of operations.
• Responsible for all training equipment
and facilities and ensuring their
operational effectiveness ready for
course.
• Ensure the maintenance and safe and
appropriate storage of all necessary
project materials and equipment.
• Maintain all training facilities as
requested by the STM.
• Advise and assist where appropriate with
the implementation of new training and
procedures in relation to maximising
(STM).
productivity, safety and skill sets.
• Responsible for the upkeep,
maintenance and record keeping of all
training aids and training materials.
• Conducting QA visits to operational and
CL Teams as per direction from the line
manager.
• Undertake any other duties as may
be required.
