To lead and strengthen the organization’s strategic engagement with donors and partners to enhance visibility, mobilize resources, and ensure long-term sustainability. The role is pivotal in building trust-based relationships, aligning donor interests with programmatic goals, and supporting the development of policies that ensure effective donor engagement and accountability.
1. Donor Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Identify, initiate, and cultivate relationships with institutional donors, foundations, and strategic partners.
- Serve as the primary focal point for key donors, ensuring regular communication, trust-building, and visibility of impact.
- Lead the organization of donor visits, briefings, and events to showcase programs and outcomes.
2. Proposal Development & Fundraising:
- Coordinate and lead the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals in collaboration with program, MEAL, and finance teams.
- Ensure proposals align with donor priorities and organizational strategy.
- Support budget development and ensure narrative-financial coherence in submissions.
3. Grant & Partnership Management:
- Oversee active grants to ensure compliance with donor requirements, including timely reporting and accurate documentation.
- Maintain grant tracking systems and ensure alignment of implementation with donor agreements.
- Facilitate internal coordination to ensure smooth delivery and risk mitigation in donor-funded projects.
4. Strategy & Policy Contribution:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of partnership, fundraising, and donor communication strategies.
- Support the formulation of internal guidelines, templates, and tools to enhance donor engagement and grant management systems.
5. Reporting & Intelligence Gathering:
- Provide regular analysis of funding landscape, donor trends, and partnership opportunities.
- Prepare strategic briefs, risk assessments, and donor reports for the senior leadership team.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of donors, prospects, and submissions.
- Master’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or grants management in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Proven experience engaging with institutional donors (e.g., UN agencies, bilateral donors, INGOs).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in Arabic and English.
- Strong understanding of donor compliance frameworks, proposal development, and partnership dynamics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
