| Support the Project Medical Referent in defining, planning, managing, implementing, and monitoring medical activities across the Homs and Idlib projects within the Northwest Syria Mission, dedicating 50% of time and responsibilities equally between both locations (Homs and Atimah base in Idlib). Ensure efficient coordination of medical resources, adherence to MSF standards, and provision of quality medical care. Assume full responsibilities of PMR during their absence. |
| Specific Responsibilities for Homs & Idlib (Northwest Syria Mission): • Equally manage coordination and collaboration between medical teams in Homs and Atimah (Idlib) to ensure consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness in service delivery across projects. • Oversee and support integrated medical activities, specifically addressing mass casualty incidents, trauma management, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), pediatric care, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), chronic disease management, and health promotion. • Facilitate regular context-specific training and capacity-building initiatives for staff, focusing on emergency response preparedness, mass casualty management, infection prevention and control (IPC), and adherence to MSF protocols. • Monitor and analyze epidemiological trends specific to Northwest Syria, recommending adaptations to medical interventions and strategies in response to evolving health needs and security conditions. • Ensure rigorous application of MSF's Quality of Care, Patient Safety standards, and infection prevention and control mesures across project locations. • Strengthen relations with local authorities, community leaders, and humanitarian actors to enhance MSF's operational acceptance, safety, and the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. • Ensure culturally sensitive approaches and community engagement strategies are effectively implemented, enhancing MSF's impact and acceptance within local communities. |
Education: | • Essential: Medical Doctor, Nurse, or Paramedical qualification. • Desirable: Advanced specialization or training in Public Health, Emergency Medicine, Tropical Medicine, or related fields. |
Experience: | • Minimum of 2 years' relevant clinical and management experience. • At least one year in complex humanitarian contexts, (MSF or another humanitarian organization). |
Languages: | • Arabic and English languages essential (high level command oral and written). |
Others: | • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, Internet/social media). • Excellent understanding of MSF's principles and values. |
