Goal / Purpose:

The Hygiene Promotion Supervisor will coordinate a team of HP Officers in order to set up the Hygiene Promotion activities, ensuring that Solidarités International technical recommendations and procedures are followed.

Setting Up and Supervising Activities

Plan weekly activities for the HP team and have them approved by the Line Manager (HP Deputy Project Manager).

Organize and supervise the implementation of hygiene promotion activities in coordination with the WASH

technical team.

Plan human resource needs (e.g., HP officers, CVs, DWs) and adjust based on project timelines and workload.

Plan tool, supply, and IEC material requirements; ensure timely requests from stock or procurement.

Anticipate ana coordinate administrative and logistics needs, including transport ana communication tools.

• Supervise and monitor each stage of hygiene promotion interventions, ensuring alignment with project

oniectives.

• Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with project workplans, technical standards, and agreed-upon deadlines

Monitor the quality, quantity, and impact or hygiene promotion sessions and related benavior change activities.

  • Organize community consultation sessions, focus group discussions, and informal feedback channels to understand needs and preferences.

  • Support the formation or strengthening of Community WASH Committees, ensuring inclusivity of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

  • Coordinate with community leaders, local councils, and other stakeholders to ensure culturally appropriate and accepted messaging and practices.

  • Promote community ownership of hygiene initiatives by engaging CVs and volunteers from the target

communities

  • Ensure protection principles are embedded in all activities, including safety, dignity, non-discrimination, and informed consent.

  • Identify and refer protection concerns and vulnerable individuals to appropriate services following the referral pathway and PSEA protocols.

  • Train HP Officers and field teams on protection mainstreaming, child safeguarding, and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse).

  • Ensure that activities and IEC materials are accessible and appropriate for different age, gender, and disability groups.

  • 2. Logistics and Administration

  • Track activity progress and material usage with relevant monitoring tools.

  • Ensure all team members follow safety and security protocols, including during travel and fieldwork.

  • Assist in organizing distributions related to hygiene kits and ensure they are conducted in a safe and dignified

  • manner

  • 3. Reporting and Communication

  • Participate in weekly WASH and project planning meetings upon request.

  • :

  • Maintain updated monitoring tools, attendance sheets, and session records, and archive them in the base office.

  • Submit weekly progress reports to the Line Manager, including achievements, challenges, and updates from the field.

  • Contribute to the monthly program report and donor reporting as required.

  • Maintain strong relationships with community members and local authorities.

  • Continuously gather and share feedback from the field to improve intervention quality and relevance.

University degree or Higher Diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health, Health Education, Social Sciences,

Nursing, or a related field.

  • In the absence of a formal degree: a technical diploma with at least 2 years of progressive experience in hygiene promotion or WASH in humanitarian contexts.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hygiene promotion, community engagement, or WASH programming, preferably in humanitarian or early

  • recovery settings.
    Familiarity with protection mainstreaming and community-based approaches is an asset.
    Experience in managing and mentoring teams (HP Officers, CVs, DWs).
    Experience in coordinating with local authorities, community leaders, and humanitarian stakeholders.
    Strong skills in community mobilization, participatory methods, and behaviour change communication.
    Strong organizational and supervisory skills: planning, delegation, field follow-up, and team support.
    Experience with tracking materials, field logistics, and IEC tools distribution.
    Ability to ensure safety and security compliance in field environments.
    Experience in preparing weekly activity reports, contributing to monthly donor reports, and updating monitoring databases.
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with beneficiaries, staff, and external stakeholders.
    Fluent in spoken and written Arabic: working knowledge of English is an asset.
