
Job Summary
The Medical Operation Officer is responsible for providing operational and logistical oversight and support. He/She assists the PM to ensure the quality of clinical pharmaceuticals, consumables, and durables procured. He/she participates in giving oversight to all logistical aspects of the program, assists with access to programming areas, and helps ensure patient flow through the clinic is smooth and. He/she will work closely with the organization operations team to ensure compliance with internal, external donor and international standards. The Medical Operations reports to the PM and operationally supports all medical staff working within the program. They may also perform functions not outlined in this job summary.
Key Responsibilities
• Assisting the PM with coordinating and procuring items according to procedures and standards used with organization internal protocols and international medical standards.
• In conjunction with the PM, ensures logistical needs are met for the medical program in relation to supplies, delivery, access of areas, and programming sites.
• Assist the PM with ensuring information-sharing and coordination of project activities with relevant local government departments, health centers, NGOs and community stakeholders.
• Monitors the warehouse condition and ensures that storage of pharmaceuticals and other supplies is up to standard.
• Assists with developing processes to improve patient flow through clinic.
• Helps develop an operational system to accurately and efficiently register and track returning patients.
• Provides temporary coverage and assistance with key tasks for medical logistical team members and pharmacist as appropriate.

Education / Experience Needed
• Experience in medical field
• Familiarity with pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Familiar with areas of programming
• Experience in logistics/ procurement
• Preferred medical background (such as pharmacist or nurse).
