
Under the overall strategic guidance of the Regional Director, and in close coordination with the Deputy Country Representative, the Country Representative serves as the lead of the Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring effective implementation of the Country Strategy.
The role includes direct supervision of relevant Technical Coordinators as designated by the Regional Director—currently the FSL Coordinator, WASH Coordinator, Health and Nutrition Coordinator, and MEAL Coordinator. The Country Representative also manages the Security Manager. These supervisory responsibilities may evolve in line with changes to the mission structure.
The Country Representative is responsible for the day-to-day management of the mission, working in close alignment with the Deputy Country Representative to ensure cohesion between program implementation and program quality.
The Country Representative maintains regular coordination with the Regional Director, including weekly follow-up and oversight of security planning and daily security management. The role also entails ensuring appropriate representation at the national level across all relevant fora—such as Cluster Coordination mechanisms, NGO coordination platforms, and engagement with governmental counterparts. Finally, the Country Representative ensures sustained integration and information flow with regional teams, fostering a two-way dialogue that supports the achievement of regional strategic objectives.
