The media assistant works on documentation inside Syria within the media department and under the media officer. His
duties include documentation, photography, and production of visual content.
Senior Media Officer
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS) – ToR
• Document daily project activities through photography and videography, highlighting the human impact
and storytelling potential.
• Produce compelling human-interest stories in visual and written formats, in coordination with field
teams.
• Capture a variety of footage from the field, including live broadcasts of key activities and events.
• Edit video content professionally using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, ensuring alignment with
the organization’s branding and storytelling standards.
• Support the creation of visual materials (e.g., posters, social media posts, presentations) using design
tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Organize, sort, and upload visual content daily to the organization’s private cloud storage.
• Write clear captions and concise narrative summaries for photos and videos for use in reports and social
media.
• Propose creative ideas to enhance the visual communication and media impact of the organization.
• Assist in planning and executing media campaigns and visual storytelling initiatives
Technical knowledge
• Minimum of a high school diploma; a university degree in media, communication, or design is preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
• Premiere Pro and After Effects for video editing and motion graphics.
• Photoshop and Illustrator for graphic design.
• At least two years of field experience in media production, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong skills in photography and videography, with the ability to capture expressive and story-driven visuals.
• Ability to develop human-centered visual and written stories that convey the organization’s mission and impact.
• Good command of Google Workspace (Drive, Docs) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a keen visual sense.
• Excellent time management, ability to work under pressure, and flexibility in dynamic field environments.
• High interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ethical media practices, safeguarding principles, and the organization’s code of conduct.
