A Finance Officer with proven experience in integrated financial operations, strong expertise in QuickBooks, and a solid understanding of compliance requirements. Skilled in handling daily transactions, financial reconciliations, document control, and supporting the finance department in delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
- Accurately enter all financial transactions and accounting entries into QuickBooks.
- Process all invoices, expenses, and operational costs in the system and allocate proper accounting codes and funding projects.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and cash accounts using QuickBooks tools and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage the Chart of Accounts and link entries to funding sources and specific grants.
- Reconcile monthly financial reports prior to submission to donors.
- Export annual reconciliations and financial statements.
- Review all documents related to operational advances and travel advances, ensuring proper documentation and required approvals are in place.
- General Finance and Compliance:
- Manage and record cash transactions using appropriate accounting tools (cash and bank books).
- Conduct monthly reconciliations for cash and bank accounts.
- Receive and review all financial documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Orange’s internal policies and donor regulations.
- Ensure all financial documents are properly coded, translated (into English), approved, and supported with necessary evidence.
- Review operational and travel advance reconciliations for accuracy and completeness prior to processing.
- Maintain an organized filing system (both paper and electronic), ensuring ease of access during audits.
- Record incoming financial documents in appropriate logs and registers.
- Implement internal control systems and ensure full compliance with Orange’s financial and logistical policies.
- Proven professional experience in using QuickBooks (Mandatory).
- A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded projects.
- Familiarity with donor compliance regulations (e.g., UN, EU, USAID, etc.).
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial performance tracking tools.
