Job Description

Jpb Purpose

To plan for the financial sector and for implementation in addition to ensuring the use of funds received for the organization to implement projects within the policies and procedures with the exercise of control over all expenditures also prepare periodic financial reports and final reports at the end of the fiscal year, update policies and financial procedures in accordance with legal and professional requirements.

1. Management

- Commitment to the path and values of the organization (Faith in youth and volunteers, Integrity and honesty, sacrifice and altruism, teamwork and team spirit, innovation and creativity, Integrity in dealing and beneficiary dignity, responsiveness and initiative

- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts

- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

- Oversee the operations of the treasury

- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met

- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operations

- Maintain updated and good banking relationships

- Support and oversee the proposals budget development

- Participate in procurement committees according to the procurement policy

- Manage the preparation of the organization's master budget

- managing the organization’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems

- Administers the preparation of interim, year-end and comparative financial reports; performs and provides analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget

- Serves as a liaison between the organization and legal counsel

- Provides other managers with information required

- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing and assuring proper insurance coverage

- Respect and apply all the PSEA and child protection principles, and show high commitment to report any PSEA & CP action

2. Budgeting

- Manage the preparation of the organization budget

- Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction

- managing the organization’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems

- Administers the preparation of interim, year-end and comparative financial reports; performs and provides an

analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget

3. Financial Analysis

- Engage in ongoing cost reduction/management analyses in all areas of the organization

- Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement

- Interpret the organization's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities

- Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management

4. Finance Strategy

- Preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries, and financial statements

- undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning

- controlling income, cash flow, and expenditure

- managing budgets

- developing and managing financial systems/models

- carrying out risk assessments

- supervising finance staff

- Analyze financial records to improve budgeting or planning

A. Essential :

- Bachelor Degree in finance management, business administrative or related fields

-5years of progressive professional finance experience with a minimum of 3 year as finance Manager/ coordinator

and minimum 5 years in NGOs field

- Advanced level in English, and Arabic

B. Desirable :

- Master degree in business administration, finance, auditing, or related fields

- More than 5 years of progressive professional experience finance management

- Advanced level of both English, and. Arabic

- Experience in Good understanding of the humanitarian crisis and response in Syria

- Experience in the financial analysis, Budgeting, Finance Strategy, Management

  • Commitment to implementing policies by taking them into account when planning and designing activities, as well as when receiving complaints or noticing issues related to this matter, and fulfilling their obligation to report them directly through designated channels or directly to senior management. Raising awareness among designated staff about the child protection policy and the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as the reporting mechanisms and how to handle them.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities / accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
