
ABOUT PUI IN SYRIA
The current operational strategy for Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) in Syria is to alleviate the
human suffering of the Syrian people in Syria by delivering sound, needs-based humanitarian
assistance, while promoting a life-sustaining response. PUI's positioning on, shelter, education,
livelihoods, and WaSH sectors remain a priority.
Based on ten years of experience conducting humanitarian operations in Syria, supporting Iraqi
refugees and lately Syrians affected by the crisis, PUI has played an important role in responding to the
needs of the population within nine governorates (Aleppo, Damascus, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama,
Tartous, Lattakia & Deraa ) and through the following interventions:
- Rehabilitation of collective and private shelters
- Rehabilitation of infrastructure
- Emergency and Early Recovery WASH interventions
- Education support for conflict-affected populations (remedial classes, school rehabilitation, free
exam preparations, summer class activities, community based initiatives and psycho social support),
- Enhancement of the Population of Syria self-reliance through livelihoods (vocational training course,
provision of a professional tool kit ((PTK))
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The WASH Monitor is responsible for the daily field monitoring and follow-up of WASH activities,
including water trucking and solid waste management, ensuring implementation according to approved
plans and required quality standards.
The role requires daily presence in the field in activity site.
Under the direct supervision of the team leader, He /She will follow-up is ensured on the
implementation of the activity, quality, fairness, and proper execution in accordance with the project
plan and within the timeframe.
➢ Monitoring of WASH Activities
- Conduct daily field visits to project sites
- Monitor water trucking and solid waste activities including collection, transportation,
Distribution, testing, disposal
- Ensure activities follow plans and schedules as agreed in the contract and scope of works
- Verify quality of service delivery
➢ Data Collection & Reporting
- Record daily quantities of water and waste to the line manage
Submit daily tracking sheets and logs
- Share weekly reports with Team Leader
- Provide regular field updates
➢ Water Quality Monitoring
- Conduct water sampling according to the requirements of the operational plan and as per the
instructions of the team leader
- Support chlorination and FRC testing
- Monitor tank cleanliness and safety
➢ Coordination & Communication
- Maintain communication with Team Leader
- Report challenges and updates
-Ensuring fair distribution of beneficiaries
- Active listening and conveying feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to the line
manager
➢ Reporting & Documentation
- Support monitoring reports
- Ensure accurate and timely data submission
- Support in collecting and sharing information related to humanitarian needs in the field
- Support in collecting and sharing information and surveys at the field level conducted by PUI
- Daily field presence required
- Daily contract modality
- Movement across Rural Damascus locations

judge necessary.
REQUIERED SKILLS:
Education
- High school degree
Experience
