Location: Idlib (Maarrat al-Numan) – Aleppo (Azaz)

Job summary

The position holder is responsible for field supervision of project activities and ensuring their implementation in line with the approved plans and timelines, through team leadership, task coordination, and communication with relevant stakeholders.

They also oversee logistical aspects, reporting, and document control, and represent the organization before relevant entities, while fully adhering to humanitarian principles and the organization’s approved protection and safeguarding policies.

  • Prepare preliminary engineering studies and detailed plans necessary for the execution of engineering works
  • Create estimated quantity books and technical specification documents for project activities
  • Evaluate technical aspects of engineering tender submissions and provide a detailed analytical study of the technical proposals of each bidding contractor.
  • Under the supervision of the project manager, develop an executive work plan for the engineering activities to be implemented by the ATAA Association, which the contractor will be committed to following.
  • Conduct daily and direct field monitoring of engineering work performed by previously hired workers in the camps, and monitor material quality and work execution integrity.
  • Develop any necessary engineering drawings (detailed plans) as required by the work department.
  • Maintain close coordination with the project manager, providing timely updates and information on field developments, and actively participate in preparing the project's weekly report regarding the engineering aspects.
  • Maintain a quantity survey book (both hard copy and digital) for calculating executed quantities.
  • Take responsibility for controlling receipt and delivery documents, scheduling, and submitting them to the project manager.
  • Collaborate with the project manager in applying humanitarian principles and regulations, as well as adhering to the protection laws for individuals and communities in general.
  • Fully comply with Ata’a Association’s safeguarding policies and procedures, including policies on protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH), and child safeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being of beneficiaries—especially children—both psychologically and physically across all projects, offices, and facilities, and fostering a safe and supportive environment through full implementation of these policies and their annexes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture, a Master's degree is an additional advantage.
