IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Specific Responsibilities:

- Oversees the implementation and adherence to national and international standard treatment guidelines by all physicians.

- Responds to emergencies and organizes referrals to Kilis or the surgical unit at Bab al-Salama, providing necessary information and documentation regarding further treatment.

- Conducts orthopedic examinations at the orthopedic clinic.

- Responds to orthopedic emergencies at the hospital and at the organization's affiliated points.

- Performs orthopedic surgeries.

- Continuously monitors orthopedic patients admitted to their ward.

- Participates in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports and contributes to other reports as required.

- Participates in the training and guidance of medical staff.

- Participates in daily medical rounds (with other physicians, the head nurse, and other key staff) and weekly coordination meetings (with other staff), and uses the approved templates for written meeting minutes.

- Informs the medical coordinator and program coordinator of any difficulties, security concerns, potential outbreaks of infectious diseases, and any other relevant information.

- Upholds the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of patient information.

- Actively contributes to the improvement of the health facility and the organization. - Perform any other duties within their expertise as assigned by the Medical Director.

- Follow the instructions of the Medical Director, and in their absence, follow the instructions of the designated staff member.

- Commit to providing accurate and scientifically sound training to resident physicians, in accordance with the curriculum approved by the Medical Specialties Board.

- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, internal regulations, and policies for preventing exploitation, sexual abuse, and child protection.

  • Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
  • Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Minimum seven years of experience, including residency.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft applications).

  • Communicating with impact and respect.
  • Handling insecure environments.
