Job location: Syria – Aleppo – Al-Bab PHC

JOB SUMMARY

Conduct campaigns and health awareness through visits to homes and public places.

The CHW has the following responsibilities and duties:• Delivers community-based health education on key topics such as reproductive health, child nutrition, breastfeeding, personal hygiene, home sanitation, vaccination, and prevention of communicable diseases.

• Provides awareness sessions and counseling on early detection of diseases.

• Conducts informative training and awareness sessions for pregnant women, caregivers, and children to promote healthy behaviors, using appropriate communication tools and distributing them according to each family’s specific needs.

• Distributes preventive supplements to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

• Promotes and educates communities on family planning, menstrual hygiene, and maternal and child health care.

• Prepares and submits timely and accurate weekly and monthly reports on activities conducted, including health promotion sessions, referrals, service mapping, and case follow-up.

• Ensures accurate daily data entry, maintains organized and easily accessible records, and establishes a clear and well-structured archiving system.

• Distributes key messages on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in line with project indicators.

• Conducts referral processes, when necessary, in accordance with the identified needs of individuals or cases.

• Participates in regular coordination meetings with nutrition coordinator to review progress and adjust plans as needed.

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

1. Formal university degree in health, teaching, community development, or a related field.

2. Knowledge and/or work experience in health, teaching, hygiene promotion or community development is preferable.

3. Able to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines

4. Able to relate to and motivate staff effectively.

5. Knowledge of Microsoft office with a good command of Microsoft Excel.

6. Strong leadership and coordination skills.

7. Able to work both independently and in a team environment.

8. Previous NGO experience in a similar context is a plus.
