Job Purpose

The IT Officer plays a central role in keeping Bonyan’s technology running smoothly. This position ensures that staff have the tools and support they need to work efficiently—whether it’s setting up email accounts, troubleshooting network issues, or keeping our systems secure and up to date.

From managing Microsoft 365, G Suite, and other platforms, to handling backups, hardware repairs, and software updates, the IT Officer is the go-to person for day-to-day tech support. They also help new staff get connected, follow up on technical problems, and make sure everything from printers to internet connections is working as it should.

Another key part of the role is overseeing our ERP system (Odoo). The IT Officer manages user access, works with the service provider when issues come up, and supports staff in using the system effectively.

In short, the IT Officer helps everyone at Bonyan stay connected, supported, and secure—making sure our work doesn’t get held back by technical issues.

  • Managing all Bonyan’s accounts (MS Office 365, G Suite, hosting, domain, and meeting platforms).
  • Creating and setting up accounts for staff, educating them on login, and resolving issues arising, including user folders and shares.
  • Diagnosing user faults, e.g., logon issues, profile faults, and permission errors.
  • Email configuration, mailbox creation, and closing the accounts in coordination with the HR department.
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
  • Testing new technology.
  • Verify functionality of hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
  • Offers troubleshooting, support, and repair when IT equipment or networks malfunction.
  • Documents daily tasks, training, and support sessions to inform the department and organisation better regarding IT support needs.
  • Assists with maintaining information security through controlled hardware or software installation and staff education.
  • Advance knowledge of current technology and support solutions by attending workshops and continuing education courses.
  • Preparing tender specifications and advice on the selection of computer hardware and software, as required.
  • Backing up files for the organization’s data.
  • Design and set up Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), and provide the level of support needed to resolve network problems.
  • Resolving problems with networks, internet connections, printers, and other computer systems.
  • Provides support to users for problems with all currently supported applications, including, but not limited to, various MS Office Suite, e-mail, cloud solutions, and Student System software packages.
  • Coordinates the technology hardware repair/software process with the authorized repair vendor(s).
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
  • Follow up with users to ensure complete resolution of issues.
  • Redirect unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Provide needed information on IT products or services.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by the organization.
  • Follow up and update device status and information.
  • Overseeing the ERP system and contact with Odoo in case of any challenges.
  • Any other duties given by the line manager.
  • Manage the ERP system accounts (create–delete) and manage the access according to the authority and level in coordination with the line manager.

Academic Qualifications:

BA in IT or a relevant field of study.

Requirements & Skills:

  • At least 2 years of proven work experience within the IT Dep.
  • Sound judgement and ability to make impartial recommendations. Very good computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Hard-working, proactive, and able to prioritize and delegate a demanding workload.
  • Odoo ERP system experience.
  • Excellent proven technical knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders
  • Excellent English and Arabic language skills (spoken, written and reading).
