The Project Manager – Rehabilitation and Reconstruction is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the implementation of infrastructure rehabilitation projects, including the repair and rehabilitation of houses, schools, and community buildings. The role ensures that project activities are implemented in accordance with approved designs, timelines, and budgets while maintaining high technical standards and delivering sustainable benefits to target communities

1. Project Planning and Management

. Develop detailed project implementation plans and work schedules

. Ensure project activities are implemented within the approved timeline and budget.

. Monitor project progress and ensure achievement of project objectives and indicators.

. Identify operational risks and develop mitigation measures.

2. Technical Oversight

. Supervise the design and implementation of rehabilitation and repair works for houses, schools, and public buildings.

. Review engineering drawings, bills of quantities (BoQs), and technical specifications.

. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

. Oversee damage assessments and define rehabilitation needs.

3. Team Management

. Lead and supervise the project team, including engineers and field staff.

. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.

. Support capacity development and promote a collaborative working environment.

4. Budget and Resource Management

. Monitor project expenditures and ensure efficient use of project resources.

. Coordinate closely with finance and procurement departments.

. Review cost estimates, budgets, and procurement plans.

5. Contractor and Construction Management

. Participate in the selection and management of contractors and suppliers.

. Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and technical specifications.

. Conduct regular field visits to monitor construction progress and quality of work.

6. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

. Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.

. Represent the organization in coordination meetings related to infrastructure or shelter projects.

. Build and maintain strong partnerships with implementing partners and local institutions.

7. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

. Establish monitoring mechanisms to track project progress and performance indicators.

. Prepare regular technical and narrative reports for management and donors.

. Document lessons learned and best practices.

8. Compliance and Standards

. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

. Ensure project implementation aligns with international humanitarian and construction standards.

. Promote accountability and transparency toward affected communities

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering,Architecture, Construction Management,or a related field.Experience

- Minimum 3 years of experience managing infrastructure or rehabilitation projects.

- Proven experience in housing rehabilitation, school rehabilitation, or building renovation projects.

- Experience working with international NGOs or donor-funded programs is highly desirable.
