Job Purpose
The role is to guard PIN compounds, warehouses, assets and staff, whilst abiding to NGO humanitarian principles to be unarmed, not using violence, and not to be affiliate with any armed groups. The main tasks are to detect, deter, observe and report. the guards are responsible for supporting the Deputy Access manager regarding a to all security related matters within the field, office, warehouses.
- Protect, using unarmed and non-violent means, PIN’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle parking, to prevent, detect or report signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Securely and politely, maintain access control, meaning receiving guests and visitors in a secure and polite way.
- Adhere to PIN rules, guard rules, code of conduct, and humanitarian principles of not being involved in any active conflict
- Follow up any security breaches and immediately report to all staff
- Patrol randomly or regularly building / warehouses and perimeter.
- Watch video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft or violent acts.
- Use PIN’s records to write the daily activities and, such as staff movement or staff attended, visitors, and complaints.
- Call Free Police or civil defense in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Security procedures & preparedness
- Know all of the active SOPs and CPs including: SOP for Medical Assistance, Evacuation Plan for your office and the CP on Medical Evacuation
- Ensure that SOPs and CPs are being followed in the office and communicate any shortcomings to the Deputy Access Manager
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the guarding, role.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
