The Protection Needs Assessor (PNA) will be based in Syria (Idlib) and will be responsible for conducting protection monitoring to identify protection concerns and respond through internal and external referrals, collecting quantitative and qualitative data, and camps profiling. Primary responsibilities will include daily data collection in the field and weekly reporting. The PNA will liaise regularly with the IRC Women protection and empowerment and child protection teams as well as with other IRC sectors for information sharing and referrals for services. The PNA will also coordinate with other service providers in the field to conduct and receive referrals. The PNA will coordinate with the camp managers and local authorities to make sure protection principles and best practices are applied when services are provided to IDPs and other vulnerable groups in the field.
This position will report to the Senior Protection Monitoring Officer and will receive additional technical support from the Protection Manager.
Education: Relevant national institution or university degree in law/sociology/psychology or other advanced technical qualifications.
Work Experience: At least one year experience in NGOs, protection, and social work.

Key Internal Contacts: receive direct support from Senior Protection Monitoring Officer, following the general regulation of PRoL Manager, coordinate with Program staff and other programs staff to facilitate referrals, collaborate with operation staff to address the operational needs.
Key External Contacts: other service providers and local authorities/ representatives in coordination with the Senior Protection Monitoring Officer to facilitate referrals.
