
The main responsibility of the is to provide BLN, ALP remedial & catch-up classes, and support during providing structured Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities for children (including children with special vulnerabilities) in the Temporary learning centres( TLCs) and the targeted schools. S/He will be working under direct supervision of the TLC Supervisor.
The main tasks of the Teachers are as follows:
• Take full responsibility in the implementation of Temporary Learning centre (TLC) & Remedial classes, and particularly, BLN,ALP & remedial & catch-up classes according to the agreed plan of action;
• Supervise and support children’s play activities at the agreed time;
• Ensure safe and child friendly atmosphere within the Temporary Learning centre or in the remedial classes;
• Conduct a daily visual assessment of the children and ensure a variety of structured games and activities within the centre, creating to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities;
• Support with the preparation of SEL&PSS&ALP & BLN& Remedial classes;
• Leading the planning and running of tests for students (Placement test and ASER test)
• Prepare, support and facilitate during monthly caregiver engagement activities on parent skills, child protection and child well-being;
• Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected;
• Register attendance of children on a daily basis, and report weekly;
• Ensure that all games, teaching Aids and equipment are accounted for and sorted securely at the end of the day;
• Ability to identify problems and resolutions;
• Identify children in distress and report cases to supervisors;
• Understand and abide by the principles of the centre and the established codes of conduct, child protection policies, and other relevant guidelines;
• Any other task as requested by the PIN EDU/PSS team;
• Will adhere to COVID-19 & Cholera preventive measures during and throughout execution of all above mentioned tasks.
Bachelor’s Degree or Institute Certificates in one of the following departments (Education, Department of Classroom Teaching) or, psychology, pedagogy, Arabic literature, English Literature, or BA in Sport, Science or Mathematics, (mandatory). • Two years of experience in teaching. (Mandatory). • Previous experience in conducting ASER / EGRA & EGMA, Placement tests and community awareness sessions will be considered as an advantage (desired); • Eexperience in Education and/or (Child) Protection programming, with expertise in referral pathways and integrating protection principles into educational centres. • Patient and adept at managing large classes, with expertise in successfully implementing positive discipline techniques. (obligatory); • Excellent organization, coordination, analytical skills; and capacity to prioritize, and communicate effectively.
