
The MEAL Assistant will be a full-time employee of ZOA Syria. Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Officer, the MEAL Assistant will support projects monitoring, conducting field monitoring visits, following up on implementation MEAL plans, support strengthening the project M&E capacity, and support reporting and data management.
1.Support the implementation of regular surveys as per project requirements and document results/findings.
2.Verifying project information.
3.Coordinate with the MEAL team and project staff to document lessons learnt and findings.
4.Provide inputs and support to the MEAL team in developing their MEAL systems including access to the hotline; and feedback boxes where appropriate.
5.Ensure the documentation and storing of both qualitative and quantitative data.
6.Support and maintain project monitoring tools, databases and project reporting data.
7.Support the establishment of feedback mechanisms that are supported by the project.
8.Conduct regular field visits for assessments and monitoring.
9.Support the mainstreaming of ZOA’s strategic priorities of Localization, Climate Resilience, GDI (Gender, Diversity and Inclusion) and Peace Nexus in ZOA’s MEAL systems.
10.Other duties as required in line with the skills, experience and role.
Knowledge and experience
•Bachelor degree in social sciences or project management or related fields
•One year experience in MEAL preferably in a similar working environment.
•Relevant training in M&E is preferrable
•Data collection and project reporting.
•Good spoken and written command of English.
•Excellent spoken and written command of Arabic.
•Computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
•Experience with digital data collection tools (such as KOBO) and/or Data Analysis software (such as SPSS) is big plus.
