  • Providing nutritional services, including:
    • Nutritional survey of children, pregnant and lactating women.
    • Detecting cases of malnutrition in children under 5 years and pregnant and lactating women.
    • Providing therapeutic or nutritional supplements or vitamins for children, pregnant and lactating women, after the advice of a nutrition technician or the attending physician.
    • Promote breastfeeding through individual and group sessions.
    • Leading IYCF campaigns in population centers, providing advice, distributing brochures and vitamins, and referring patients to health centers or nutrition centers.

  • Providing psychological services, including:
    • Providing psychological first aid to beneficiaries during waves of displacement.
    • Providing psychological support to quit smoking - alcohol - drug addiction - etc...
    • Providing psychological support to children, women and people with special needs.

    Providing public health services, including:
    • Continuous awareness and dissemination of awareness about family health and a healthy lifestyle to promote community health through individual and group sessions and the distribution of awareness materials (brochures - leaflets)
    • Awareness about public hygiene.
    • Awareness about infectious diseases.
    • Awareness about non-communicable diseases (pressure - diabetes - chronic lung diseases - cancer...)
    • Awareness about the importance of the vaccine and follow-up without interruption.

  • Required activities:
    • Conducting surveys to determine needs in the regions.
    • Conducting recreational activities and events for children.
    • Participation in annual humanitarian events.
    • Attending training courses in the nutrition, public and psychological health sectors to enhance the efficiency of cadres and raise the quality of service provided.
    • Public awareness about infection control to confront the Corona virus.
    • Home visits 5 days a week, with an average number of 7-8 homes per day, and providing services as needed (nutritional - health - psychological) in addition to referral and follow-up of referrals with the centers to which they have been transferred.
    • Develop weekly and monthly work plans with the team leader so that they are continuously followed up with the supervisor.
    • Documenting the daily work through paper records or registering directly on the Kubo program.
    • Measuring the temperature and sorting out suspected cases of Covid and referring them to the nurse or treating physician.
    • Measuring blood pressure and sugar if such activity is required in the projects and documenting it.
    Criteria for selecting community health workers
    A CHW is a member of the target community and a CHW is recruited from within their community.
    • The team member should be from the same village or neighborhood in which he works.
    • Obtaining at least a secondary education certificate.
    • Age from 18 to 40 years
    • Experience in the field of health or community awareness is preferred.
    • Have personal attributes (adjectives) commensurate with work requirements
    • The ability to communicate with individuals, families, and target communities.
    • The ability to understand dealing with prevailing business systems.
    • Desire to work and help the people of the village or neighborhood.
    • Successfully pass the training course for community health teams before work, which includes the following materials:
      Basic Unit Guide
     Family Health Guide
     Nutrition Guide
     Infectious Diseases Guide 
     Non-communicable diseases guide
     Healthy Lifestyle Guide

  • To conduct refresher training on an annual basis.
    • Strictly adhere to humanitarian and protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection

Context/Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Medical certificate only
    Work experience as a health educator for at least one year with NGOs
    Good skills in using office applications
    Strong communication skills

  • Handling insecure environments.
