DOOR is an independent non-profit organization working on community development and economic empowerment of the community in order to empower its members to overcome challenges and to invest their own resources creatively.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Community Program Coordinator leads and coordinates community mobilization and engagement efforts, strengthening partnerships with community structures, volunteers, and youth groups, and promoting meaningful participation across project interventions at DBW Syria Office.

The role focuses on resource mobilization, supporting recruitment and volunteer engagement, managing project data and performance indicators, and ensuring timely reporting and effective information flow. The coordinator works closely with program, operations, and MEAL teams to enhance implementation quality, strengthen collaboration, and ensure the integration of community mobilization across all projects.

Supervise and mentor core teams, volunteers, and youth leaders through ongoing coordination, capacity building, and gradual empowerment to lead meetings, participatory decision-making, and community initiatives independently.

Plan and implement community mobilization and outreach activities within community youth centers, and design inclusive engagement approaches to strengthen youth participation in trainings, awareness sessions, and community initiatives.

Maintain regular communication with participants, volunteers, and community structures to sustain engagement, gather feedback, and continuously improve community interventions.

Develop and manage data collection tools and monitoring systems for community mobilization, ensuring the integration of inclusion and diversity standards (gender, disability, age groups, and community priorities).

Monitor and analyse participation and performance indicators, and produce dashboards, analytical reports, lessons learned, and recommendations to support program quality, planning, and decision-making.

Map and engage community stakeholders, youth groups, local initiatives, and potential partners

to strengthen coordination, outreach, and resource mobilization across projects.

Coordinate closely with Program, Operations, and MEAL teams to ensure effective information flow, proper documentation, timely reporting, and integration of community mobilization across project components.

Support the organization and facilitation of trainings, workshops, meetings, and community events, and contribute to documenting success stories, lessons learned, and visibility materials.

Promote safeguarding, accountability, inclusion, and community feedback mechanisms, and report any risks that may affect implementation or community engagement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

University degree in Business Administration, Community Development, Project Administration,

Social Work, or a related field.

At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in community mobilization, volunteer management, administrative coordination, or office support within humanitarian or development NGOs.

Good knowledge of Syrian administrative regulations, documentation requirements, and compliance practices relevant to INGO operations.

Strong familiarity with data and information management systems, volunteer and staff record-keeping (both physical and digital), and preparation of administrative, HR, and volunteer reports.

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information and documents with discretion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with databases or digital information platforms is an asset.

Excellent communication

and interpersonal skills; ability to provide clear administrative

guidance, coordinate volunteers, and facilitate staff orientations.

Fluent in Arabic; good written and verbal English is required.

Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, coordinate volunteers, and meet deadlines in dynamic contexts.

DUTY STATION

The position is based in DBW Syria Office. The Community Program

Coordinator will spend

approximately 50% of their time in the office supporting project coordination, data management, reporting, and resource mobilization, and 50% in the field, traveling regularly between project sites and community youth centers to lead community mobilization activities, support volunteers and community teams, collect and monitor participation data, and ensure proper documentation and compliance.

The role may also require attending external coordination meetings and supporting community mobilization, volunteer engagement, and partnership efforts across targeted governorates as needed
