The HR Department in Médecins Sans Frontières – OCP is looking for an Arabic Teacher in
Damascus to help international staff to learn Arabic Language. The duration of class will be from
September to Dec 2026, subject to extension as per requests. The course will be given Two sessions
per week on the following days: Fridays or Saturdays from 10:00–11:00 am for Intermediate and 11:00
am–12:00pm for Beginners.
The group will be divided into two, one for beginners and one for intermediate. The Arabic teacher will
teach conversation, speaking, reading and writing in the Levantine (Shami) Dialect.
The expected number of participants is approximately 4–6 participants at a time. However, this
number may fluctuate depending on staff rotation, turnover, and changes in the composition of the
team.
Design Arabic Courses for Beginners and intermediate.
• Teaching students to read and write Arabic Levantine (Shami) Dialect.
• Guide students through the rudiments of spoken Arabic with the goal of improving conversation
skills.
• Implement and lead weekly conversation groups for students to practice speaking skills.
• Evaluate students’ abilities to express themselves in oral and written Arabic through classroom
conversations, assignments, papers, and exams.
• Preparing assignments and grading examination papers.
• Maintaining a track of the progress of students and reporting the progress to HR.
• Maintaining records of the students
Bachelor’s degree in Arabic literature, Translation or any equivalent field.
• Good communication skills and fluency in two languages i.e. English and Arabic.
• Ability to translate and interpret Arabic language.
• Patience and efficiency in teaching students’ Arabic language.
• Ability to adopt different methods according to the aptitude of the students and teach them.
