Job description 
Job Purpose


 

To manage the content of the site and pages of the organization on social networking sites in order to serve the goals and strategies of the organization and formulate its content and publicize the activities of the organization in a professional manner.

Advocacy:
-    Commitment to the path and values of the organization (Faith in youth and volunteers, Integrity and honesty, sacrifice and altruism, teamwork and team spirit, innovation and creativity, elegance handling and patient dignity, responsiveness and initiative).
-    Supervision success stories for the organization's activities and programs in a professional media manner and to share them on the organization's website and the social networking platforms of the organization in coordination with the programs department.
-    Communicate with external supporters to carry out awareness campaigns
-    Establishment of joint media relations and campaigns on the activities of the Organization
-    Follow up the daily events inside Syria and work to mobilize support for them in relation to the humanitarian sector

    Media and Social Media Management:
-    Manage the content of social networking platforms to serve the objectives, strategies, and activities of the organization
-    Work to increase the organization's presence and access to different platforms and communicate them in professional ways
-    Supervision Publication of employment announcements for the organization
-    Develop policies and procedures for the department
-    Manage and update the Violet website

    Outreach:    
-    Manage violet media contact database including media, supporters, partners, etc
-    manage field staff to be provided on emerging updates, needs, and supervision the department activities, etc
-    Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any SEA action
 

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities / accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart

Essential .A:

   Bachelor degree in Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline
   Two years of professional experience in the humanitarian field focusing on communications, media or public relations
    Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken)
   Advanced level in English (written and spoken)

    Desirable   .B :    
    Master degree in Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline or related fields.
   More than 2 years’ experience in the humanitarian field focusing on communications, media or public relations
    Advanced level of both English, Arabic, and good level of Turkish

    Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).        Experience in working with NGO’s, INGO’s.
    Experience in Good understanding of the humanitarian crisis and response in Syria
    Ability to understand and utilize various media platforms including social media and traditional media
        writing skills in Arabic and Strong writing skills in English
    Good understanding of advocacy practices
