Main Objective of the position:
The Physiotherapist shall participate in ensuring through standardized patient management of physical disorders and
pain reduction therapy (assessment, treatment.

consequences of ill treatment/ torture). In addition, relaxation therapy, as well as Postural education and body awareness will be offered. S(he) will also give advice on how complex rehab cases can be better documented for referral services in the field of physical rehabilitation. (S)he will help to steer the development and awareness of physiotherapy services within the project initially under the supervision of the physiotherapist trainer.
In collaboration with the different professionals of the MSF team and staff at the SOIT HUB, the physiotherapist will guarantee that the patients will benefit from quality care (reception, assessment, treatment and follow up information), ensuring a multidisciplinary approach that includes medical and psychological aspects, as well as external referrals when needed.
Clinical duties:
Assessing patient's physical capacities, using different procedures (e.g. functional capacity tests, pain assessment, posture analysis ...) in order to set up, in collaboration with the patient, treatment plan and objectives to improve patients' health and wellbeing.
Implementing physiotherapy programs, including physiotherapy exercises, manipulations, massages, utilization of physiotherapy devices and equipment, educating and advising patients and their carers on how to prevent and/or improve conditions, to accelerate and improve their status within and outside the treatment sessions.
Information and awareness duties:
Support the Health promotion department to develop messages to improve the general communities and patients' awareness about the benefits physiotherapy offers for the treatment of the experienced violence's consequences.
Participate in briefing and informing all members of the medical and social workers teams on the effects
discussions and continuing education sessions.
Train patients and caretakers on how to preventive behaviors in relation to their physical and psychosocial problems, can diminish the consequences of the ill treatment and torture. This can be done by designing patient education materials in collaboration with psychologists, nurses, doctors, social workers, health promoters.
Provide additional information to the teams members on how patients' physical rehabilitation proceed in order to facilitate, if needed, the transfer of patients to referral services.
Administrative duties:
Actively monitor, register, and report physiotherapy activities (correctly filling in required patient files, forms, data, and reports) and analyze these statistics in order to improve quality service, preserving patient's data traceability.
Take care of physiotherapy equipment and consumables, managing the stock, making orders according to activity and cleaning up the equipment, to ensure its continuous availability and safety.
Report to the log manager any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/damage of medical equipment, supplies, or consumables to implement the appropriate measures.
Coordination
• Coordinate the physiotherapy services with the medical team (participate to morning meetings, coordination meetings, medical meetings, security briefing as requested)

Ensure correct entry of PT department activities to the database manager for the due reporting.
Education
Essential - Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
Experience
therapies in group or individually
Experience with ill-treatment and survivors of torture preferred.
