POSITION SUMMARY: The security assistant serves as the focal point for Dier Ez Zor governorate and provides the team with day-to-day security support. The position will concentrate on ensuring effective communication on security-related matters, incident reporting, and ensuring appropriate security systems are in place and properly utilized.
The role reports to: Safety & Security Coordinator
Team members reporting to this post: watchmen.
This is a local role; no expat benefits will be provided.

• The security assistant will report directly to the Safety & Security Coordinator.
• Aware of the nature of Syria and its Geographic location and have good knowledge about Dier Ez Zor Governorate.
• Has good communication with all relevant actors indie Ez Zor Governorate.
• Brief the Safety & Security Coordinator when changes in the security environment are detected.
• Good knowledge of the forces' structure and actors found on the ground in Syria.
• Ensure adherence with policies, tools, SOP, handbooks, and guidelines.
• Aware about the main actors in Dier Ez Zor governorate in particular
• Ensure proper filing of documents.
• Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
• Ensure proper implementation of security measures. Including securing approvals for program activity.
• Uphold integrity and confidentiality.
• Conduct situational monitoring and analysis.
• Conduct security actor networking.
• The Security Assistant shall work under the Security Department in cooperation with all other related departments and report directly to the Security coordinator.
• When directed, the Security Assistance shall seek and provide information and establish communication with government Offices, Police, etc.
• First point of contact for field staff on safety and security concerns in Die Ez Zor.
• Monitor national, Social, and political, and security issues and inform senior staff of issues that
affect or may affect, Blumont programs.
• Train and supervise security watchmen in Dier Ez Zor office.
• Compile and submit incident reports within the correct time limits.
• Conduct regular checklist inspection for Hasakah locations.
• Prepare and send the Daily/weekly security report to the Security department.
• Ensure proper filing of documents.
• Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
• Ensure proper implementation of security measures.
• Accompanying expats staff during their travel between Blumont offices in Raqqa, Dier Ez Zor and Hasakah.
• Any additional duties as required.
• At least 2 years experience with L/INGO in Safety & Security Department.
• Knowledge of relevant security clearance procedures and protocols.
• Records maintenance skills.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. Organizing and coordinating skills.
• Skill in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.
• Skill in the use of computerized spreadsheets, relational databases, and word processing software
