The Social Work Supervisor (SWS) will work closely with the partner and supervise the Social
Worker based in the PHCC. The SWS will oversee protection case management, ensuring

effective internal referrals within the PHCC and external referrals to relevant protection actors.
The role supports the implementation and monitoring of social work activities in both the PHCC
and its catchment community, promoting a holistic and dignified response to patients’ social and
protection needs.
Social Case Management (Individual Level):
• In collaboration with the Health Promotion, Community Engagement and Social Work
(HPCE/SW) Manager informed by patient feedback, the SWS will contribute to establishing
and maintaining updated service mappings and referral pathways. This includes attending
inter-agency coordination meetings, building networks with other humanitarian actors, local
NGOs, and governmental social services.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and structured training for the PHCC social worker and relevant
staff on protection-sensitive case management, safe interviewing, and confidential internal and
external referrals.
Support the PHCC social worker in identifying, assessing, and responding to patients’ social
and protection needs.
• Directly manage complex and high-risk cases (e.g., survivors of violence, unaccompanied
minors), and report these high-risk cases to the HPCE/SW Manager and Field Coordinator.
Social Support in the PHCC (Facility Level):
• Ensure the PHCC maintains a safe, confidential, and dignified environment that promotes
patients’ rights, informed participation, and access to feedback and complaints mechanisms,
in alignment with MSF’s safeguarding principles.
• Monitor and reinforce the process of obtaining informed consent for referrals and the handling
of personal information.
• Ensure that patients’ non-medical care needs (e.g., transport, accompaniment, material
support) are assessed and followed up by the social worke
Collect and review feedback from patients and caregivers gathered by the social worker, and
relay key findings and concerns to project management (HPCE/SW Manager and Field
Coordinator) for action and accountability.
Community-Based Support (Community Level):
• Lead the integration of social work into community-based activities, including identification of
vulnerable individuals and monitoring of protection risks, in collaboration with the HPCE.
• Contribute to building a contextual understanding of risk and protective factors affecting
community members in the PHCC catchment area, to inform tailored protection strategies
and referrals.
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling, law or applied social and behaviour sciences, or any
related field.
Experience:
• Essential: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant professional experience as a social worker/case worker/
protection officer, managing or supervising complex cases with critical social needs (protection,
psychosocial, sexual and gender-based violence, key populations etc.), supervising community social
services or social services in health facilities.
• Essential: Demonstrable experience (minimum 1 year) in supervising and training others in a team
setting.
• Desirable: Experience with MSF or other NGOs in the same field.
Languages: • Arabic and English languages are essential
Knowledge:
• Essential: Strong Knowledge in computer literacy, (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Aware of the socio-legal framework of the catchment area.
