Perform repair / maintenance / construction works, according to the supervisor’s instructions and MSF standards, in order to ensure
proper operations and prevent faults / deterioration of MSF equipment / installations / infrastructures.
Carry out all minor work (construction, repairs, etc.) requested by the line manager, as well as any task identified by the employee
and approved by the line manager.
• Perform regular maintenance of MSF installations / equipment / infrastructures (base, house, store, warehouse, health center,
hospital, etc.), particularly in line with a preventive maintenance plan (procedures to follow, schedule, etc.).
• In the event of faults / deterioration, diagnose the problem and propose possible solutions to the line manager and/or technical
adviser.
• Perform any necessary tests / checks to confirm the proper operation of the installation or equipment after repair.
• Ensure effective management, protection and care of work tools (including site installations under the employee’s supervision)
and keep the workshop tidy.
• Ensure that there are adequate stocks of consumables and materials for minor repairs and manage those stocks; placing orders
in time.
• Keep all documents related to installations / equipment / infrastructures in order and update them regularly.
• Immediately inform the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage,
loss, theft or attempted break-ins.
• Assist logistics department for any related work needed
The Maintenance Agent is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and upkeep of all MSF facilities,
installations, and equipment requiring basic preventive and corrective maintenance within the office and guest house. The
position reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor and works in close collaboration with the logistics team to maintain safe
and functional living and working conditions in accordance with MSF standards.
1. Small rehabilitation and minor construction works
➢ Carry out small rehabilitation works and minor construction activities such as masonry repairs, painting, sealing, fixing
doors and windows, and minor carpentry works.➢ Support adaptation or rearrangement of office and guest house spaces according to operational needs.
➢ Ensure works are completed safely and in compliance with MSF safety standards.
2. Generator and central heating systems
➢ Perform routine preventive maintenance of generators and central heating systems according to maintenance
schedules.
➢ Monitor basic operational parameters and report abnormal functioning or fuel consumption.
➢ Ensure cleanliness of generator areas and assist logistics staff or specialized technicians during servicing or repairs.
➢ Support safe operation of heating systems, especially during winter periods.
3. Energy and electrical maintenance
➢ Carry out basic electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of damaged lights, switches, sockets, and other
minor electrical components.
➢ Ensure proper functioning of lighting systems in offices, guest houses, and external areas.
➢ Identify electrical risks or unsafe installations and report them immediately to the supervisor.
➢ Support energy-saving practices through regular checks and proper maintenance.
4. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
➢ Perform preventive maintenance of air conditioning units, including cleaning filters, washing indoor and outdoor units,
and checking basic functionality.
➢ Report technical faults requiring specialized intervention.
➢ Ensure air conditioning systems operate efficiently to maintain adequate comfort and equipment protection.
5. WATSAN and basic plumbing activities
➢ Perform basic plumbing maintenance such as repairing leaking or broken taps, replacing fittings, and clearing minor
blockages.
➢ Support cleaning and periodic maintenance of water tanks.
➢ Assist in water chlorination activities according to MSF procedures and under supervision.
➢ Ensure proper functioning of water supply and sanitation facilities in office and guest house premises.
6. General facility upkeep and safety
➢ Conduct regular inspections of MSF premises to identify maintenance needs or potential risks.
➢ Ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and functional at all times.
➢ Immediately report safety hazards, infrastructure damage, or equipment malfunction to the Logistics Supervisor
