The Institutional Safety Officer - Emergency Management Department will be responsible for advancing safety initiatives across AKF partners’ institutions in addition to overseeing the implementation of activities related to Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE), and the School Safety Programme (SSP) in collaboration with the Education Program Manager. He/ she shall also contribute to broader community and institutional safety efforts, working closely with UNMAS and other AKF programmes (with travel required to other Syrian governorates as needed). The incumbent will report directly to the Preparedness Manager.
The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Disaster Risk Management, Emergency Management, Education, or a related social science field.
At least two years of experience in institutional safety, education sector programmes, or emergency management.
Ability to design and oversee the delivery of training sessions and awareness activities on safety and risk education.
Proficiency in project implementation, including administrative procedures, financial oversight, and reporting.
Effective collaboration with government authorities, UN agencies, and community stakeholders.
Certifications in relevant fields, particularly in institutional safety, emergency response, and war remnant risk awareness.
Dedication to promoting safety and resilience in complex operational contexts.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
