Collecting and evacuating waste produced by the identified health structures to the designated site, previously sorted by medical staff and emptying out dustbins as often as necessary to ensure an efficient quality of care and safe environment.
· In collaboration with the Incinerator technician, fill the incinerator via the loading door with waste or more dry firewood / coconut shells.
· Remove and clean the ash tray from the incinerator. Wipe the remaining ashes off the ashtray into the residues pit by means of a small brush.
· Clean the lower inside of the incinerator by means of a brush and a dustpan.
· Push the waste that has fallen beside the loading hole into the incinerator by means of a metal stick or a solid brush, after filling the last batch of waste.
· Clean and disinfect the waste containers using 0.10% chlorine solutions before sending them back to the health facilities.
· Ensure proper storage and maintenance of the equipment and materials provided.
· Informing any relevant information related to his/her responsibilities or any incidents that might compromise his/her (or that of others) safety or security.
· Performing tasks related to the waste management according to the approved protocols with total respect to the IPC measures.
· Any other related DDD tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.
Knowledge & Qualification
· High School or Equivalent.
· Training in waste management, hazardous materials handling, or a related field can be beneficial.
· Knowing and applying security and IPC standards regarding the operation of Waste management area infrastructure, taking care of his/her own safety.
Experience
· Previous experience in waste management, industrial operations, or a related field is often preferred.
· Practical training or apprenticeship in waste incineration can be highly beneficial.
Languages
· Required: Fluency Arabic (oral and written).
· Preferred: English
