The purpose of this assignment is to provide temporary security coverage to replace regular security guards when required, for a maximum of ten (10) days per month

SCOPE OF WORK  AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The On-Call Security Guard will perform the same basic duties as a regular guard, as the following :

•          Monitor and control premise access points

-           Keep sight of all access approaches.

-           Open/close gates using access control principles.

-           Visitor access policy implementation

-           Maintain a register for all visitor names ,non-HI staff .

-           Monitor live feeds of CCTV system.

-            Manage and announce visits by all non-HI staff

-           Ensure that all entrances are locked before leaving the office

•          Conduct regular patrol on daily basis at 0730 AM inside the Hi facility perimeter prior to staff arrival checking for anomalies, and at 1730 prior to leaving the office 

•          During the working hours, conduct regular patrols every two hours outside of the Hi perimeter as part of counter-surveillance measures to ensure that all safety & security measures are in place, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, possible unescorted visitors etc

•          Remain updated about the security situation in the local area of HI premises, surrounding neighborhoods, transmitting information to the HAS Officer

•          Observe for suspicious activity inside or outside HI premises and report any incident to the HAS Officer immediately

•          Remain alert on duty (no sleeping, no alcohol, no inebriation)

•          Ensure immediate response in case of fire or safety hazard.

•          Ensure that no one enters HI premises with weapons. Remind the person this is a humanitarian facility and they must leave their weapons outside

•          Responsible for any HI equipment received for the duration of the work contract

•          Remain in their post during working hours, unless indicated otherwise by HAS Officer or C-HASM

•          Ensure to switch on/off the heating system at the scheduled time.

•          Ensure to switch on/off all electrical appliances according to the solar system capacity

•          Ensure to switch on/off water pump at the office.

•          Maintaining the guard post clean and in a professional stage

•          Comply with HI security procedures, Code of Conduct, and safeguarding policies

 

WORKING SCHEDULE AND SHIFTS 

•          The On-Call Guard will be covering day shifts only when required to cover for a regular guard absence 

•          Maximum shifts: 10 days per month

•          Daily working hours are 0730 AM to 0530 PM .

•          HAS officer will share shift schedule with on-call guards on time.

•          The On-Call Guard must be available at short notice, subject to reasonable prior communication

•          Payment will be made per day worked or per shift, according to HR-approved rates

•          A high school diploma is a plus

•          1 year of experience in LNGO INGO or in a similar post is an asset 

•          Good communication skills 

•          Physically fit and able to perform guard duties

•          No crime record

Reports to:  HAS officer 

Indirect Reporting: C-HAS Manager
