
IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work according to the department's schedule and in coordination with the department head, medical director.
-Supervise and commit to implementations of retinal treatment instructions.
- Develop or implement plans and procedures for Ophthalmology(retinal) services.
-Diagnosing and treating retinal diseases such as:
Retinal detachment.
Diabetic retinopathy.
Retinal Macular Lesions.
- Performing specialized retinal examinations using modern technologies.
- Performing surgical and precise retinal procedures.
- Providing specialized consultations on retinal diseases.
- Providing health awareness to patients on how to prevent retinal diseases and their complications.
- Educate patients about maintenance and promotion of retinal & healthy vision.
- Preparing technical reports on the work of the Retina Diseases Department.
- Participating in preparing weekly and monthly reports for the Ophthalmology Department and contributing to other reports as required.
- Participating in training and mentoring medical staff and weekly coordination meetings (with the rest of the staff).
- Inform the department head and medical director of any difficulties encountered in the department's work, including the possibility of an infectious disease outbreak, and any other information related to workflow.
- Maintain and document patient medical and treatment data and monitor and develop quality systems and standards in the field of retinal treatment.
- Maintaining the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of patient information.
- Performing any other duties—within expertise and specialization—as assigned by the department head and medical director.
- Commitment to working in accordance with the Code of Conduct and internal regulations, as well as the policies for preventing sexual exploitation and abuse and child protection.
