Job purpose:

 

The Community Committee Follow-up Staff is responsible for supporting the establishment, capacity building, and continuous follow-up of community committees within targeted communities under the WFP project. The position ensures effective community participation, strengthens communication channels between the project team and community members, and supports community committees in fulfilling their roles in promoting accountability, transparency, and community engagement

1.     Community Committee Formation and Coordination

 

·       Support the identification and establishment of community committees in targeted areas according to project requirements.

·       Coordinate with community leaders and local stakeholders to ensure inclusive and transparent selection of committee members.

·       Ensure representation of different community groups, including women, vulnerable groups, and marginalized individuals where applicable.

·       Maintain updated records of community committee members and related documentation.

 

2.     Community Committee Training and Capacity Building

 

·       Organize and facilitate orientation and training sessions for community committee members on their roles, responsibilities, and project objectives.

·       Provide guidance on community engagement, accountability mechanisms, feedback channels, and communication procedures.

·       Assess committee members’ capacity-building needs and provide additional support when required.

·       Document training activities, attendance, and key discussion points.

 

3.     Community Committee Follow-up and Support

 

·       Conduct regular field visits to monitor community committee activities and provide ongoing support.

·       Follow up on committee performance and ensure effective communication between committees and project teams.

·       Collect community feedback, concerns, and recommendations through committee members and report them to relevant teams.

·       Support committees in promoting awareness of project activities, eligibility criteria, and available feedback mechanisms.

 

4.     Reporting, Documentation, and Accountability

 

·       . Prepare regular reports on committee formation, training activities, field follow-up visits, and challenges.

·        Maintain documentation including meeting minutes, attendance sheets, training materials, and follow-up records.

·       Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accountability standards, and data confidentiality requirements.


 

1.     Required Professional Experience:

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in community engagement, mobilization, humanitarian projects, or similar roles.

·       Previous experience working with NGOs or UN-supported projects is preferred.

·       Experience in facilitating community meetings and trainings is an asset.

 

2.     Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

·       Minimum high school diploma.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, Community Development, or related fields.

·       Relevant experience may compensate for educational requirements

 

3.     Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to facilitate discussions and training sessions.

·       Good understanding of community-based approaches and humanitarian principles.

·       Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups.

·       Good reporting and documentation skills.

·       Ability to work in the field and travel to project locations.

·       Good knowledge of MS Office applications.

 

4.     Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

·       80% field work

·       20% office based

5.     Physical Requirements

·       Based in NWS

 

6.     Language Requirements

·       English and Arabic,
