Position Summary Search is seeking qualified candidates for a Field Project Officer position to support the team of one of our key projects. The project will support local civil society organizations in addressing relevant local needs in a sensitive manner, through capacity building, dialogue processes, small grants, and networking events. The Field Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the areas of implementation with the guidance of the Project Manager and in collaboration with the implementing partner, ensuring that activities run smoothly and achieve high-quality results. The Field Project Officer will take the lead inengaging with local CSOs, organizing capacity building activities, networking meetings bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, conducting dialogue sessions on pressing issues on the local level, in addition to supporting research and local-level CSO sub-grant initiatives. These activities are part of the implementation of an 18-month project aiming to empower diverse Syrian civil society actors to contribute to the sustainable, equitable, and inclusive peacebuilding in their communities.
Collaborate with the project team and implementing partner in the mapping processes for local CSOs and stakeholders, the capacity assessment, and the selection of CSOs;● Provide support to all project activities in the relative area of operation including design, implementation, reporting, evaluation, and financial compliance as requested and required by the project.● Participate effectively in the design and implementation of the capacity building scheme and activities to strengthen the capacity of the CSOs in conflict transformation, project and organizational management, and other topics based on identified needs of partner CSOs; ● Collaborate closely with the implementing partner team in the area to engage with the local community through dialogue processes and peace-clubs;● Create and maintain positive and professional relationships with relevant stakeholders in the area of operation, including with partners, appropriate community leaders, civil society actors, and marginalized groups. ● With support of PM and liaison officer, coordinate with local authorities to ensure required permission and approvals● Manage the relationship with CSOs and follow up with them to ensure their compliance with the project’s requirements and expectations including submission of proposals, reports, updates, etc.● Co-lead on the planning, coordination, implementation, and facilitation of discussions and networking events on the national, regional and international levels.● Support the project’s team and partner organization to conduct conflict analysis reports.● Collaborate with team and support team to ensure the alignment with MEAL, Financial, compliance and operations requirements, SOPs, and plans.● Update the team about relevant changes in context and the dynamics on the ground. ● Deliver monthly reports on implementation progress, context developments, and planning for the subsequent reporting period. ● Maintain regular written and oral reporting with Search’s project team and with the implementing partners. ● Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable promoting strong safeguarding practices, understanding safeguarding policy and procedures.● Coordinate across the projects and Search team members As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities. Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, or another relevant subject. ● Minimum of 5 years of related experience. ● Familiarity with peacebuilding and civil society networks. ● Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. ● Spoken and written fluency in Arabic. English is a plus.● Proficiency in Microsoft Office. ● Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail. ● Experience in online communication and online platforms and tools.SFCG Officer Competencies:● Initiates brainstorming or problem-solving meetings. Articulates program/project objectives and how they fit into a team’s goals and/or Search’s mission and adapts to the communications setting. ● Applies standards, identifies areas for standardization, and coordinates across functions from a multicultural perspective that reflects consideration of other cultures, other viewpoints, and other ways of doing things. ● Takes into account the environmental landscape, assesses one's own and others' viewpoints in their environment, and proposes solutions from an ethical perspective. ● Recognizes the options available for solving problems, conducts analyses, and calculates metrics and other technical tools to support informed decision making. ● Conducts Quality Control of team documents, briefing materials, presentations, and systems data. Carefully reviews and checks the accuracy of information in work reports, management information systems, or with other individuals and groups. Checks the accuracy of one’s own and others’ work. Proactively informs management of potential risks and concerns; suggests resolutions. ● Independently prioritizes time to reach deadlines and reaches end results of assignments with ability to accomplish multiple steps with limited to no supervision.
