The Project Assistant will support the implementation of project activities in their respective locations focusing on coordination with stakeholders, community engagement, and daily follow-up on activities related to WASH, community infrastructure, governance initiatives, and social cohesion.
They will play a key role in community mobilization, data collection, field monitoring, logistics coordination, and reporting. The Project Assistant will closely collaborate with the Project Officer and Project Coordinator to ensure effective and timely implementation.
· Support daily field implementation of project activities, including infrastructure rehabilitation, WASH services, and social cohesion actions.
· Facilitate community mobilization and engagement processes, ensuring inclusive participation of women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
· Coordinate with local councils, service providers, CBOs, and relevant stakeholders under the guidance of the Project Officer.
· Assist in beneficiary identification and verification processes using transparent, vulnerability-based criteria.
· Monitor activity progress and report on delays, issues, or feedback from the field.
· Prepare and collect documentation (attendance sheets, photos, beneficiary lists, delivery confirmations, etc.) required for project records.
· Support the organization and delivery of field trainings, awareness sessions, and public events in coordination with technical teams.
· Contribute to the development of weekly and monthly activity reports.
· Ensure compliance with organization’s protection, safeguarding, and accountability standards.
· Report any protection concerns or risks observed during field activities.
· Participate in needs assessments, post-activity surveys, and other MEAL processes as needed.
· Assist in logistics and procurement follow-up in coordination with the operations team.
· A university degree in social sciences, civil engineering, development, or a related field.
· At least 1-2 years of experience in implementing humanitarian or development projects, preferably in WASH, ERL, community mobilization, or protection sectors.
· Experience in working with or through local councils, CBOs, or local governance structures is preferred.
· Familiarity with the local dynamics in Damascus, Rural Damascus, Hama and Homs governorates.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Fluent in Arabic; basic knowledge of English is a plus.
