The Financial Coordinator supports the overall financial operations of ONSUR by ensuring accurate financial reporting, proper budget monitoring, compliance with internal policies and donor regulations, and efficient financial documentation. The coordinator plays a key role in strengthening financial management systems and providing timely financial support to program and field teams.

A. Financial Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and verify monthly financial reports in coordination with the Finance Manager.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with ONSUR policies.
  • Maintain organized, complete, and up-to-date financial records and supporting documents.
  • Assist in preparing donor financial reports and ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.

B. Budgeting & Expenditure Tracking

  • Support the preparation of project budgets and revisions.
  • Monitor project expenditures and compare them with approved budgets.
  • Identify variances and report them to the Finance Manager with recommendations.
  • Assist program teams in understanding and following financial and budgeting procedures.

C. Cash Management

  • Prepare cash requests for programs and field offices based on approved plans.
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing activities.
  • Conduct cash counts, verify balances, and ensure proper cash controls are in place.

D. Compliance & Internal Control

  • Ensure all transactions comply with ONSUR’s financial policies and donor requirements.
  • Support in internal and external audits by preparing needed documentation.
  • Identify gaps in compliance and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties in all financial operations.

E. Payments & Procurement Support

  • Review payment requests, invoices, and purchase documents for accuracy.
  • Verify procurement files for compliance before processing payments.
  • Coordinate with logistics and program teams to ensure proper financial support to operations.

F. Coordination & Capacity Building

  • Provide financial guidance to field teams and program coordinators.
  • Support capacity-building activities for staff on budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to improving financial procedures.

G. Support to Finance Manager

  • Prepare analytical financial summaries and expenditure reports.
  • Assist in developing and updating financial policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to improving the organization’s financial systems and internal controls.

H. Other Responsibilities

  • Support donor proposal development with financial inputs.
  • Handle any additional tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in NGO financial management or coordination roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting systems and donor compliance (UN, EU, INGOs).
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel (advanced level).
  • Excellent English and Arabic skills (written and spoken).
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.
