Designing, overseeing and monitoring all the Social Work (SW) related activities in the project, in order to address the people’s critical social needs that include patient social support and community- based social interventions, assistance and protection, taking into account the social determinants of health, in order to foster a holistic approach to people’s needs and to safeguard the wellbeing, safety and dignity of MSF patients.
⚫ Conducting social assessments, identifying the social support needs of patients/survivors, including legal, protection, shelter/housing, financial/vocational, food security, and access to medical and psychosocial support services beyond the project’s intervention scope.
⚫ Supporting the provision of comprehensive care to patients and their families, by actively coordinating their work with the other members of the MSF multidisciplinary team (eg. medical, MH, HP) and linking with multisectoral services such as protection, safety, security, legal, justice, education, and livelihood.
⚫ Facilitating referrals and linkage by various means to evaluated external re-sources means in order to ensure patients are able to access other services while ensuring safety and dignity.
⚫ Provide systematic follow up care regarding attendance of clinical appointments and following up on referrals made to relevant multi-sectoral services aimed at improving the quality of life of patients/survivors.
⚫ Participating in the creation and maintenance of any material needed for the activities of social workers, including facilities and equipment in order to ensure continuity and quality of service.
⚫ Mapping and regular (bi-weekly to monthly) updating of formal and informal support services (including existing community resources). Assess quality of existing support services, with identification of gaps and advocacy for an improved culturally appropriate social response.
⚫ Coordinate and take part in meetings with other stake holders and service provider to ensure proper referral pathway and continuously update communication channels with identified focal points.
⚫ Maintaining records, statistics, files, and reports on all social work activities and follow up care either provided by MSF or other support services. Identifying gaps in the available services and with the team prioritizing and developing plans following the objectives of MSF all while ensuring patient information is kept confidential and only shared with patient’s consent.
⚫ In coordination with project field management team and MHS, conduct home visits and/or follow up visits to (high risk) beneficiaries in order to assess patient’s progress and additional needed services.
⚫ Track and report back on high urgent cases and any arising challenge that requires support from other departments.
⚫ Informing the manager/supervisor about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective
⚫ Attend weekly MH team meetings and provide update on services in order to identify gaps/new provider to ensure that coordination is taking place and ensuring a regular update on urgent cases referred.
⚫ Conduct regular field visits to MSF-facilities to support the referred cases by Medical team.
⚫ In collaboration with other managers, support the establishment of a safe, dignified and confidential environment of care within the MSF facility, fostering the promotion of patient’s in-formation and rights, accessibility to feedback and complaints mechanism.
⚫ Offer ressources and information to help beneficairies better understand their needs and how to best move forward by linking patients to services.
⚫ Collaborate with MHS e SW in designing and updating of actors map to ensure proper support to MH patients.
⚫ Attend regular meetings for supervision and case discussion as well as for planing of activities and reporting on arising/recurrent challenges.
⚫ Identify solid referral pathways for livehood support, protection, food and cash assistance, and legal support.
⚫ Serve all patients referred and identified with no discrimination.
⚫ Ensure proper follow up for patients and report on challenging case for support.
⚫ Maintain an organized cabinet of patients files and reports of activities conducted.
⚫ Submit weekly reports (quantative/qualitative) as per the standard forms and SW data base.
⚫ Coordinate with medical team and technical referent for arising needs or emergency responses.
⚫ Meet and coordinate with other stake holders to encourage linkage and good referrals to ensure a holistic package of care accroding to individual needs of MH patients.
⚫ Keep track of cases presenting with history of assault or those seeking health care support following any intimate encounter that was not consentual. Establish a basic model of care for similar cases.
⚫ Participate in the implementation of existing protocols for survivors and clients presenting with psychososicla needs and linkage to approproate care following consent.
⚫ Coordinate care with relevant department that referr cases

Education: Bachelor degree in SW Diploma or certified training in Social Work
Knowledge: Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
Experience: Two years minimum in a similar social-worker job. Experience with MSF or other NGOs, desirable.
Languages : Mission language essential. Local language desirable
