Position Overview:
The Communications Officer is responsible for managing all external digital communication channels (social media and visual materials) and email, in addition to internal communication between Lab participants, stakeholders, and the Secretariat. The Communications Officer is also expected to cover and document Lab events, archive contact information and databases, and ensure they are regularly updated.
1. External Communication and Design (50%)
. Manage and develop the Lab’s presence on social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
. Develop the Lab’s visual identity guideline
. Create engaging and informative content on localisation ,civil society, and Lab activities
. Design visual materials such as digital posters and infographics using tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator
. Draft and publish social media campaigns and posts in Arabic, and in English when needed
. Develop content and manage newsletter distribution via Mailchimp
. Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies to increase reach and impact
2.Internal Communication and Coordination (50%)
. Manage the Lab’s primary communication channel and "info" email
. Ensure timely and professional responses to inquiries from participants and partners
. Create and regularly update the Lab’s contact database, including phone numbers and email addresses
. Ensure clarity and flow of communication between the Lab Secretariat and participating civil society actors
. Contribute to the documentation and archiving of correspondence, decisions, and communication records
. Respect and apply all the PSEA and child protection principles, and show high commitment to report any PSEA & CP action
. Commitment to implementing the child safeguarding and PSEA policy by considering them when planning and designing activities as well as when receiving complaints or observing issues related to this matter and fulfill their obligation to report it directly via the assigned channels or directly to senior management. Raising awareness to their assigned staff of the child safeguarding and PSEA policy plus reporting mechanisms and how to deal with it
Essential:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business Adminstration, Human Resources Management, or related field or minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a similar role or
· Other relevant professional /managment certifications would be an advantage
· Fluency in English and Arabic (Turkish is Desired)
Desirable:
· Advanced degree in a relevant field
· In-depth understanding of the humanitarian aid system
